Usually we would run these events over 6 days (2 days for the Irish & 4 days for the European) but we are fitting it all in to 5 days to help players who may be travelling on to Winnipeg from Ireland to play the Vimy Ridge Classic & Americas’ Cup which will start on Saturday 23rd May.

2015 Vimy Ridge / Americas’ Cup

23 May 2015to29 May 2015

We are pleased to announce that the 2015 Vimy Ridge Classic and 2015 Americas’ Cup will be held at the Anavets Assiniboia Unit #283 club in Winnipeg, Canada between Saturday 23rd & Friday 29th May.

Americas Cup

Americas Cup

Those of you who attended the inaugural event there in 2013 will know what a great event the Canadians organised for us, and it has become the yardstick by which our other events are measured.

These events will follow on from the European Open which takes place in Ireland, finishing on Wednesday 20th May, allowing any travelling players two days to get from Ireland to Canada before the start of the Vimy Ridge Classic on Saturday 23rd.

The Vimy Ridge Classic will be a Level 3 World Ranking event with £2000+ prize money and full ranking points. It will be played on the timed format and act as a warm up event for the main Americas’ Cup which will be a Level 5 Major World Ranking event with £8000 prize money and double ranking points. As it was last time, the Americas’ Cup will be played on the single game, long-up format, replicating how the local players play in the Winnipeg Veterans English Billiards League.

Bradford Open

6 Dec 2014to7 Dec 2014

Congratulations to Dave Causier who overwhelmed everyone in the field to take his umpteenth Bradford Open title at Cue Gardens in Bradford today. The score in the final against Mark Hirst was 1448 – 65, and Dave recorded breaks of 489,158,605 and 149. Mark was not the only one to suffer at the hands of Dave’s incredible scoring power however, in fact his lowest score over the two days was 733, and the lowest high break he recorded in a match was 201. The highest break of the event was 709, also by Dave in his quarter final match against Peter Gilchrist.
